Problems from Cialis?

Postby Nvr2Late » Sat Feb 06, 2016 12:43 pm

Well, my husband just spent two days in the hospital. Talk about a scary time.

On Thursday at noon, he came home complaining of a severe headache (a lot of pressure in his head), tingling in his hands and feet, and nausea. I thought at first he just had a bug. But he kept feeling worse and worse and asked me to take him to urgent care. Got to urgent care...too many waiting. He got worse by the moment, looking like he would pass out, white as a sheet, etc. I then feared he might be having a mild stroke. He was sick on the way to the ER with bad dry heaves.

Long story short, in the ER, they pursued the stroke idea, keeping him overnight for more tests, but they didn't confirm even a mini-stroke. CAT scan, labs and MRI to the head and ultrasound to the carotids all showed no blockage. His BP was 180+/100+ when we got there and just really didn't come down at all. Yesterday morning they started BP meds and then some slow decline happened, and he was feeling much better so they released him.

Now, as I posted in another thread, his hemoglobin & hematocrit again was too high and they advised that his polycythemia might well be a contributing factor. Plus, now we know he has some degree of sleep apnea. Again could account for the symptoms. As soon as he left the hospital yesterday I took him for another therapeutic phlebotomy and within minutes, he was feeling a lot better.

But I'm worried about something else now. Last summer, we took the advice of my boss, (a chiropractor) and ordered Cialis from his personal friend who runs an online Canadian pharmacy. Seemed safe, right? The first batch was fine, but this last refill came from Singapore.

I think there's something wrong with it, but I'm not sure how to go about having it tested. Guess what...he took a dose (5 mg) the night before he got sick. He also got sick several weekends ago, after taking some of it. We were never quite sure it was the Cialis, but I'm getting more suspicious as time goes on.

Any thoughts?

Cut the pills out, see if it resolves. That will tell you a lot right there.

Good idea, Vanna, and we have done just that a couple of times. It's pretty random, if it is the Cialis. Like he'll take them 3 days in a row, then the 4th, he feels horrible and it's always an hour or so after the Cialis. It's weird, really.

I sure wouldn't trust drugs from Singapore. Some Canadian drug firms are scams. The Canadian government maintains a list of honest companies online. Stick with them and you'll be safe.

Or order from a company that deals with peptides.

The pharmacy is listed on that site, but I'm still questioning why our package came from Singapore. That was a red flag to me, but maybe it'll turn out to be nothing. I share your view though.

My dh has been ordering a liquid cialis from a company that manufactures peptides.
It works very well and he has had no problems from it.

Peptide: A molecule consisting of 2 or more amino acids. Peptides are smaller than proteins, which are also chains of amino acids. Molecules small enough to be synthesized from the constituent amino acids are, by convention, called peptides rather than proteins.

This company is in the USA and we get it in under a week.

I do what Mom210 does (or maybe Dad210!). Much cheaper than a prescription and very effective. I determined the # of drops to the Cialis daily dose and use that as a guide. In fact, I got the peptide tip from Mom210 a while back. Thanks Mom! ::al

Another note is that at the suggestion of my urologist, I don't take the daily-use pills daily (when I occasionally fill the prescription or use the samples from the Dr.), but as needed and sometimes will take one - three depending on the situation need (sometimes none!). I think two-three is close to the lower "single-use" Cialis dose.

Would one of you please PM me with the link to the company that sells this? DH wants to consider it. Thanks!

Thanks for the link. Interesting - especially the comments :-)

I'm confused on the strength/dosage.

30mg x 30ml - does that mean each ml is 30 mg? Or something else?

What would the equivalent of the 5mg daily use Cialis be?

1/4 a dropper is about 7.5 mg ...dh uses about 1/2 a dropper every afternoon....it's about 15 mg...but since this is a liquid and a generic that dose does excellent for him with no side effects...but each person is different, so it's best to start small and work up to the dose that does the best for you.

Don't ever get prescriptions unless they are from your doctor who knows your history. My husband used to take cialis and they used to make him sick. His eyes would get super red and he said he felt as if his head was going to explode and heart racing. He stopped taking them as it wasn't worth the risk. Never had problems like that again. Hope he gets well soon.

Thanks for the info. I have a prescription also, but it's fallen off my insurance, so I'm researching cheaper alternatives. This looks like it will do the trick. Thanks!

After being told at COSTCO pharmacy on Saturday that it would cost us $258 to have his 30 day RX refilled, we are now looking for the alternatives too. We may go back to the Canadian pharmacy - a 30 day supply from them was only $65 with shipping.
