UPDATE- Decided to get a penile implant

Postby Brianna » Sat Dec 03, 2016 11:49 am

After 5 years of therapy, diet, exercise and every drug DH has decided to get an implant to address ED. His consultation was yesterday and he's hoping to fast track the surgery so he will be well enough for PIV when we go on vacation in March. The urologist is going to try to make it happen in time.

Does anyone here have any experience or feedback with implants?

I don't have any experience to share but I'm so very glad for both of you. May God add His protection, care, and rich blessing, and provide His wisdom to your surgeon.

I'll be looking forward to hearing your reports about it if you feel comfortable to bring us the news.

Thank you for your prayers. I'm cautiously optimistic. I just don't want to get too excited too quickly. I don't want him to feel pressured at all.

I'm not meaning to talk your husband out of anything.....HOWEVER, if it was me, I would take the time to explore this which I just ran across today:

I will probably be looking into it too.

Blessings,

We're tired of exploring. It has taken its toll on him as a man and on our marriage.

Decided to get a penile implant

Postby Brianna » Mon Apr 24, 2017 3:58 pm

For those who are interested, my DH had the surgery Thursday of last week. The procedure was done in the hospital. It took about 2 hours and he stayed overnight. Now he's resting and taking paid meds. Later this week he'll remove the bandages and become more active. For now he's basically on bed rest.

One week so you don't rip the stitches?

I don't know what the reason is, but he's so sore he can barely walk to the bathroom.

After my prostate was removed there was a long delay for the stitches to heal.

I did a bit too much too soon and had a lot of blood in my urine for a while.

He's not moving off the couch. He can't walk upstairs to our bedroom so he's in his man cave with the MLB channel.

Follow up visit to the urologist happened this week. The implant is in perfect position and DH healed well. He also started exercising again. The doctor started pumping and DH experienced pain in the scrotum. This is normal. He needs to pump as frequently as possible for the next two weeks to condition the area. He can only pump about 1/3 erect at this point. Today I felt his semi-erect penis. It's a complete improvement over his past erections. Even at 33% he was rock hard!

The price tag for this has been huge. The hospital bill was almost $100k. Insurance covered almost all of it though.

That's terrific news. Thanks for sharing your testimony to God's goodness with us. We know He's good, but we never tire of hearing just how good.....

You two are on your way to a better life together. Your H will feel so much better about himself and you will enjoy the benefits of his physical and emotional restoration.
