Praise the Lord, passing on information to my brethren! (Long)

I am not a medical doctor and what I am saying below worked for me and may not work for you. Also as with all medical advice, check with your doctor before trying anything new. The risk is on you (or the rewards 8-) )

After three decades of very little sex, DW had a sexual awakening. Before that, we would have sex maybe once or twice a year and it got to the point that even the little blue pill wouldn't work for an erection. I think my little buddy went into hibernation and stayed soft. After DW started to want sex again, we have sex once or twice a week and it would consist of oral for her and manual for me. Since we were having regular sex and wanted more than what we were doing, we decided to shake things up and go to a male clinic. After some tests, they determined that I had a severe case of ED. For $2,400 they could fix it with a little pellet. The cost was prohibitive, so we went to a urologist. He prescribed a shot called trimix. This is a chemical compound comprised of three different chemicals (alprostadil, papaverine, and phentolamine) injected into the penis. An insulin needle is used and believe me fellas it really doesn't hurt and for what little, tiny discomfort there is, the result more than makes up for it. We started out at 20 units which in medical terms is 20 parts of 100 ml. 100 parts would be 1 ml. No erection so we increased it until we got to 50 units. A certified miracle. Little buddy jumped up and we had piv sex for the first time in many years. After several successful shots, I could even use a little blue pill and it worked for a rather firm but not totally erect penis, but it started to work. So now we use the pill for oral and a pill and a shot for woohoo!!!

Next problem was the cost of the little blue pill. With my insurance, it cost me 50-60 dollars a pill. I did some research and decided to try a Canadian pharmacy. I was leery since we all have heard the horror stories of foreign pharmacies and drugs, but I bit the bullet and ordered the pills. My doctor gave me a prescription for the generic blue pill, Sildenafil at 100 mg. After a two week wait, we got the pills. I updated my will and took it. After an hour, bingo, a semi erection.Things have been much better over the last two years.

Bottom line and full disclosure.
I use a company called Northwestern Pharmacy. I am not an agent for them nor do I get money from them. The ohly reason I bring them up is that I have purchased a lot of pills from them with satisfactory results without any problems! I have had very good luck with them and the Sildenafil works very well. As a matter of fact, I don't have the side effects that I had with the little blue pill; no headache or seeing blue. They cannot take credit cards since banks do not like doing business with foreign pharmacies, so the process is to write a check and take a picture of it with a cell phone. Then send them an email and include the picture of the check as well as a picture of the doctor's prescription. After a couple of weeks to make sure the check clears and the pills go through customs, the pills usually get delivered in the mail. The pills may be manufactured in Singapore or Malaysia or some other country, but Northwestern makes sure that the manufacturers follow strict guidelines for quality products.

The trimix is compounded by a compound pharmacy. My costs are $105 (at last refill) and I get 5 vials which are good for 10 shots. At DW and my frequency, this is very much affordable. After a few shots, the pill started to work better, so perhaps it would work like that for everyone. It has to be kept frozen, and thawed out before each use. It then can be refrozen for the next use. I set up a 2 or 4 shots at a time (thaw the trimix and put it in the insulin syringe and refreeze the trimix in the syringe. Then when we are ready, we thaw the syringe in a couple of minutes and bingo. To travel with it, I have a thermos that I fill with ice and put the syringe in the thermos in a plastic baggie to keep it dry. If you don't use it the first night, keep filling it with ice. I had a syringe on ice for 3 days and put it back in the freezer when we got home. A couple of nights later, we used it and it worked as well as ever. There are several schools of thought about how well it keeps so you have to do your own research.

So there may be hope for more men (and women) than originally thought.

The US has a generic Sildenafil available in pharmacies at only a 20ml dosage. And it is only prescribed for heart conditions. Guess what big pharma is successfully keeping it out of the hands of consumers in the US. (OK, off my soapbox now).

Blessings to you all, and I pray that if you decide to try it, it works for you like it did me.

Actually, my husband was just prescribed this for ED, in the USA. We paid 33 cents a pill (30 for $10) at Sams Club. Once we knew it worked, the doctor prescribed 90 pills with 3 refills.

I have had prostate cancer. My prostate was removed along with the nerve bundle that allows for erections. The 'blue pill' can not work for me. But trimix (alprostadil, papaverine, and phentolamine) works great. I use 0.14cc per dose. My co-pay is $9 for a vial with 5 doses.

Seeking Change, was your Sams Club prescription for Sildenafil or Revatio and what dosage? Was this with insurance discount or self-pay?

The prescription was for Sildenafil, 20mg tablets. The prescription said 1-2 tablets a day for ED, but I am sure the pharmicist or doctor said he could take up to 5 in 24 hours.

The cost was for us as a Plus member, I am not sure if it is a different cost for a regular membership. No insurance.

Thanks for the the information. I have read that more generic sildenafil will be available after June 11, 2018. I have been buying mine "internationally" but hopefully this will bring the cost to an affordable level.
