Sjogren's Disease

Has anyone any experience with Sjogrens Disease and did you have success in fighting it?

I'm not 100% sure what Sjogren's Disease is. However, when I googled it, the websites talked about dry mouth and eyes. I take medicine that has the side effect of dry mouth. It drives me crazy because I drink a lot of water and two seconds later my mouth is dry like I have been working outside in the hot weather for several hours. Just recently, Act Mouth rinse has come out with a line of products that are specifically designed for dry mouth. Just using the mouth rinse every evening has had a tremendous affect. It has really relieved a lot of the dryness. I also kept the spray with me for the first week and sprayed my mouth when it would get bad. But now, I just use the mouth rinse. I can tell the next day if I don't use it, because the dry mouth comes back.

Yes, that's Sjogren's, dry mouth, dry eyes, less than adequate vaginal lubrication. My Sarah is pretty sure she's had it most of her adult life. We've always needed KY lube for sex, now she's trying to reverse the Sjogren's with nutrition.

Not sure this might be a helpful lead, but it was recommended that I take evening primrose oil for dry eyes and it was very helpful.

Yes, thanks Herdodi. She's taking evening primrose and other supplements, at that improves things somewhat.

Mornin' Job. A friend of mine has had good results with Flaxseed oil therapy (also known as linseed oil) . ~BH

Sjogren's is an autoimmune disorder, and there are a lot of other symptoms. There are blood tests that can shed some light on a diagnosis.

I think B complex helps with fatigue.

Some of the recommendations are to avoid gluten, grains, and legumes, and to add magnesium and B complex supplements.

There are other symptoms besides dryness. There are internal symptoms as well that are generally diagnosed through blood work or biopsy.

I have dry eyes and had to quit wearing contacts one year ago because of it. Dr. is giving me Restasis and am told to take fish oil twice a day; looked at Evening Primrose at drugstore and it says "to improve women's health." Is this a supplement that may help? I also get dry mouth during the night at times.
