A Honeymoon Chest

What's supposed to happen on the wedding night? Will it hurt? What if I'm not a virgin? ...

A Honeymoon Chest

Postby chachacha » Fri Aug 08, 2014 7:47 am

Hi!

I'm getting married in a week and I've been pulling together a honeymoon chest. In it I have stuff like lubes for water and regular sex, massage oil, candles, a sexy dice game, a silk scarf, and slky boxers with robe for him. I have sexy lingerie for me and a couple of sex books (Sheet Music etc.). Being practical, I also have wipes, cranberry pills, monistat (just in case). I'm also bringing a some regular board games, snacks, and a bible. I might bring a DVD of his favorite movie if I can find it. He is bringing condoms.

Our honeymoon is about 5 days long and I"d like to surprise my husband with something new each day. He likes surprises :) This will be our first time having sex, so I don't need too many things since sex will be new enough! But I'd like to have variety.

I'm thinking about adding one or two other fun items like a small jar of caramel sauce, or a feather - you know, little things. Is there anything else that you can think of that I could put in the chest?

I'm so excited - just a few more days! Woo Hoo!0

Thanks!

Take your time and enjoy each other you may find much of your honeymoon chest untouched ;) exploring each other is pretty fun all on it's own.

Sonnets

Take some Love Sonnets

How Do I Love Thee? (Sonnet 43)
Elizabeth Barrett Browning, 1806 - 1861

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

And others, here...

Take your bibles and read Song of Songs together.
Wanting to become like Job, as described in the Bible, the book of Job chapter 29. Hence the screen name.

You clearly have the most important thing: the right attitude!

In addtion to some of thr abive readings consider a couple pieces from The Prophet, Love and Marriage.

Start taking the cranberry NOW. It won't do any good after you get a UTI.

It might be nice to add a little blank book that you can write your thoughts in.

When I saw the title of this post I thought it was about sexy bras .

Besides baby wipes, I'd recommend a couple small towels for clean up. Or better yet, those old-school foldable cloth diapers. They're softer and more absorbent.

Other than that, it sounds like you're well-prepared!

The right attitude trumps any item you can bring into your marriage bed.

I'd pick up some AZO tablets. If you do get urinary irritation they will make it bearable.

Do you have a lot of UTI's? I guess I'm surprised at all of these pills for "just in case"... I have never had a UTI in my married life. I've heard that urinating after sex helps prevent them.
God can change what people do, behavioral patterns that have been in play for decades. He can change what we do to cope, find comfort, survive conflict, to count. Rahab had done a same old thing for years...then she did something new.

Honeymoon cystitis is a recognized phenomenon even in people not prone to them. Voiding after intercourse helps but it may not be enough. Better to be prepared and be ready to deal with the symptoms is they show up.

I think a lot of times it is more urethral irritation than it is an actual infection. AZO can help with the irritation until K you find out. I do not recommend antibiotics as a first line treatment for "suspected" cystitis.

It happened to my wife on our honeymoon. Not fun. Periodically ever since. You never know. Better safe than sorry. Be prepared. Like a boyscout. Or Scar.

I had it, too. I was over it in about a week. I get a UTI about once every ten years.

Praying for your upcoming marriage and honeymoon. You are doing all the right things. Don't try to overthink it. You have a lifetime to create wonderful memories.

Well, I am now married! We went on the honeymoon .... but I forgot the chest!!!!! We bought some of the things that were in there and spent plenty of time exploring and having fun. And now we have the chest for later :)

I wanted to thank everyone for your awesome advice. It is definitely something that I'll be using going forward. Have a blessed weekend!
