SOS Bible studies?

Postby Made4N » Mon Apr 13, 2009 4:32 pm

Are there any good Song of Songs bible studies? I've been having a hard time finding any that talk about the intimate side of SOS. I'm for one for DW and I to do together that asks open ended questions to get us talking about it.

Hmmm...I don't know of any, but as a writer, maybe I should produce one! Kind of a study-workbook with 'homework' assignments! ;)

Intimacy Ignited has a study guide in the back of the book, and the book itself is an in depth study, verse by verse, of SoS. I'm re-reading it now and will post a book review in the book review thread in a week or so.

You might also look into "The Peasant Princess" series from Mars Hill Church in Seattle. It is available in audio and video podcasts through iTunes and Zune. The Mars Hill website has a downloadable study guide that goes with. the series is 9 or 10 weeks long and each one takes about an hour. My DW and I are in the middle right now and have found it enjoyable and informative.

DITTO! When we first got the book my DW and I were so enthralled when we started reading it, that we almost fought over who got the book. It is truly a great book that gets very detailed without twisting scripture.

Would anyone be so kind as to write a review of the book on the 'Virtual Library' thread? Just follow the established format. The idea of the VL is to have a central repository for everyone to view and refer to...the more books the better in a library, what?

I saw Tommy Nelson by way of a video study teach on Song of Solomon. It was very good. The following is a link to a website which I found. The videos were done longer ago than I thought, but the teaching should wear well. In any case I recommend it.

I just got my copy of intimacy ignited in the mail last night. I've glanced through it and it looks great!

We just finished Tommy Nelsons study by way of cd's in our adult sunday school class. I wish that I had had that teaching when I was a young man.

Tommy Nelson's touches the suface, Intimacy Ignited goes into the actual Hebrew meanings of the language of the time, which is very erotic!!!

Tommy Nelson's is a calmer version Intimacy Ignited takes it over the top!

Have read and studied them both.

Did you try Amazon? So worth the money! ::alarm

I think I'm go to just buy it from Amazon. I was hoping look it over before buying it but since it is not an expensive book and is highly recomended, I think I will just get it.

Is there another book that has been done on this topic or is the standard still Linda Dillow's book?
