Thank you for these boards

Postby Wheat48 » Tue Oct 24, 2017 1:21 pm

I've been lurking for quite awhile and decided to jump in. I have gotten a lot out of the board already. DH and I have been married 17 years now. We have had a rough go of things, and are currently in counseling for the second time.

These past few years have been a growing time for me sexually, as I am working through childhood sexual abuse, a teenage sexual assault and a physically and mentally abusive relationship in my young adult years. All of this really created a lot of sexual shame and incorrect beliefs for me. I was a refuser/gatekeeper for many years, with a concerted effort to not refuse starting in 2009. We are working hard to move into a place of healing. I have some hurt I'm working through due to my husband turning to porn for a time.

I'm waiting on God to bring us into a time of wholeness, unity and blessing.
Looking forward to being more interactive in this community

Wheat48, may your time on TMB bring a calming influence to your heart, and the knowledge you seek.
Wanting to become like Job, as described in the Bible, the book of Job chapter 29. Hence the screen name.

Welcome, glad you are hear! I am praying that you will get the encouragement, support and answers you are looking for. May Christ Jesus enter ever dark corner, and every hidden hurt in your life and marriage, and heal you, your husband and your marriage.
God can change what people do, behavioral patterns that have been in play for decades. He can change what we do to cope, find comfort, survive conflict, to count. Rahab had done a same old thing for years...then she did something new.
