Yes I can't access any of my "participated" entries right now.

Consider this a public service announcement, folks.

I discovered this morning that in recent updates, Tapatalk has made a whole lot of information available about us to anyone on whatever forums we follow.

If you haven't checked your privacy settings recently, here is what people now might be able to see about you:

...your Tapatalk username
...other forums you belong to
...your username on those forums
...your Tapatalk avatar

For some folks, that means your real name (if your Tapatalk username is a variation of your real name), your picture, political affiliations, and other interests you have.

I am on several forums, some of which I follow simply because someone there has linked to my blog and I have a stealth membership that I never actually use other than to check up on what is said about me. There is another forum that I do participate on sometimes. Although my posts there don't embarrass me, my membership there does a little because it's one of my guilty pleasures.

It doesn't bother me so much that folks here know these things about me because I'm kind of an open book and I've already outed myself on my blog. However, it bothers me a lot to realize that people on these other forums can see who I am here and can read personal details about my sex life.

If any of this would bother you, too, get yourself into your Tapatalk settings and make some changes ASAP.

...Go to your profile.
...Select Settings.
...Scroll down to Public Profile (in the General category).
...Toggle off any of the forums you don't want people to be able to see that you follow.
...Better yet, if this is a concern, toggle off your public profile.

I've set all of this to Off now, but if any of you check out my profile, could someone please let me know what is visible about me now?

I had no idea this information was available, and I suspect some of you had no idea, either.

It's just a sad reminder of how vigilant we need to be with our online identity. :(

Just a bit of information,

Using the current version of TapaTalk(5.5) on an iPhone or iPad, I am always taken to "Last Post" on a thread in TMB even though my setting is set for "First Unread"

This does not happen on any other forums I visit (i.e., I get taken to "First Unread" when tapping on a thread)

I have opened a ticket with TapaTalk and am currently beta testing revisions to see if this can be fixed.

If anyone else is seeing this issue, please let me know either here or by PM.

Thanks

GG

I have the same issue as well, on iPhone 9.2.1 with the latest Tapatalk version.

At some point you will eventually have to upgrade, maybe through no fault of your own (i.e. Your mobile device dies or needs to be fully reset). I try to help out developers iron some of the bugs out and then I have an avenue to make suggestions that are more apt to be considered.

I get what your saying about working with developers, but in the meantime, I wanted a fix. It worked for my old phone and when I got my new phone for Christmas, it worked for it too.

Here is some feedback from the developers:

"It seems to be a plugin side issue on that forum and our plugin engineer is fixing on it.
Will let you know once we've got this back to work."
