Sexual health specialist, anyone?

Postby seeking perspective » Tue Dec 05, 2017 1:15 pm

I was wondering if anyone here has seen a sexual health specialist to address challenges related to menopause. I have an appointment tomorrow. The specialist was a the presenter at a program I attended recently. She described the appointment in vague terms and indicated that it was much more extensive and different from a traditional gynecological exam. I've realized I'm just a bit nervous about what will the exam will entail and wondered someone else had experience to share that might help me be more comfortable.

A few folks have responded to me privately about this, but I wanted to give a quick follow-up. I survived my appointment, even the really embarrassing part of it. The nurse practitioner I met with is wonderful. She treated me with a great deal of dignity and respect and made it much easier to talk with. The exam was a bit odd, but it gave her information that will help with my treatment. I've been very frustrated with my sexual response lately, and it's nice to feel some hope moving forward.

I don't know if this post will help but it might help if you feel alone in your struggles:

Um, I wrote that. :D I figured if I had questions, there's bound to be someone else who does--and my email has proven me right.

How funny! You are forgiven wife? Love it.

I follow your website sometimes. Interesting to see things from the other side as I am a high drive wife.

Most the time, I find you so personable and relatable that I think we could be friends . Keep up the good work

Only most of the time? ;) I can live with that. Thanks for reading, even though the blog doesn't apply so much to your marriage.
