Hematospermia

Postby m_eagle » Mon Dec 24, 2012 9:53 am

As far as I recall, this has never been mentioned at MB.
I'm not even a "senior." I'm only 54.

Has anyone else had this occur. I have been to the doctor. PSA is low and unchanged, and finger probed. Every thing looks good. "It is just a capillary close to the surface" he says.

I tell you, it is not fun to see.

Was this a urologist you saw, or a GP? Blood in the semen could be a sign of something serious. The only time I ever had it happen was after a prostate biopsy, and yes, it is VERY disconcerting even when you are expecting it! If I were you, I'd be trying to get a little more definitive answer than "it's just a surface capilllary."

Dale,
Definitely a urologist. It also seemed quite common on the internet. I just don't like it, cumming blood.... oh great!

Yeah, a quick search does reveal it be mostly benign after all.

Obviously, it's enough for you to notice though. I think I'd still ask for a little more info from the doctor to be put at ease!

I'll just tack this on for guys who might someday have this issue.

Well, the Dec. problem was 2 week issue and healed itself.

Until,
Last Sunday, blood was, pronounced. I did a "test fire" a couple days later. Bad and depressing.

This Saturday, in a joint event, everything was back to perfect.

There is no reason or rhyme as I can tell.

Had this once a few years back. Scared the [edit] out of both of us when it happened during a joint session, since we weren't expecting it. It healed on its own and no problems since.

This whole subject makes me laugh at the swallow/spit threads.
Well, that isn't even on the table anymore. Lady, just don't even consider it.

I thought I'd post an update for any guys who experience this aliment in the future.

Hit again in late May twice, then cleared.
Hit again June 27 & 30.
Now, its back to the Urologist for more work-ups.

It is very depressing, and has me ticked off [mod edit]. Semen should look like semen, not 99% blood.

My wife deals with it with grace and a double towel.

Well,
I took the wife in to the next urologist visit. We needed to tag team the issue. I did ask her to step outside for the usual finger exam.
"No issue, it will heal."
Can't I just have normal semen?
I hate this. (repeat that 100x)
